The Washington Post states that, in their Post-ABC poll, independents are leaning towards democrats:
Independent voters may strongly favor Democrats, but their vote appears motivated more by dissatisfaction with Republicans than by enthusiasm for the opposition party. About half of those independents who said they plan to vote Democratic in their district said they are doing so primarily to vote against the Republican candidate rather than to affirmatively support the Democratic candidate. Just 22 percent of independents voting for Democrats are doing so "very enthusiastically."
Those leaning towards the democrats are most definitely listening to their message. Most democrats have nothing they say they are for, only that they are against stuff...against Bush, against Republicans, against the Iraq War...well, you get the message. And they have as well.
In spite of this news, things are starting to look much better in Republican senate races. Democrats must win eight seats to take control of the Senate, but only have maybe seven they can get based on current polls.
