ACORN Suing?

The publicity folks for ACORN sure have been making a mess of things.....one day saying no other office did what DC did, followed by 4 other offices shown doing the same things.  Each day, while the tapes were coming out, ACORN had to change their story.

Now comes the story that ACORN is suing Hannah Giles, James O'Keefe, and Andrew Breitbart for their recording and showing their visit to ACORN's Maryland office.  For those interested, a donation site for Hannah's defense fund has been set up.  I was able to get out to it just prior to tonight's Hannity story about it.  Since the story, it's been almost impossible to load.  Good news, I'd say!

I'll keep an eye out for defense funds for the others.

Sweden Chooses Lower Taxes

Interesting to know that one of the most "nanny state" governments in the world now chooses to lower their taxes to spur job growth.  They learned that higher taxes meant no growth.

Guess it's our turn to learn this lesson.

Pimp & Prostitute Promotion 7

Ed Morrissey of Hotair.com has told the story of the Senate amendment that de-funds ACORN.  This amendment passed in the Senate by a vote of 83 to 7.  The 7 choosing to continue promoting child prostitution through funding ACORN are:

• Dick Durbin (D-IL)
• Roland Burris (D-IL)
• Robert Casey (D-PA)
• Kirsten Gillibrand (D-NY)
• Patrick Leahy (D-VT)
• Bernie Sanders (I-VT)
• Sheldon Whitehouse (D-RI)

I am doubly wondering how Illinois and Vermont feel about their 2 Senators voting 100% for promoting child prostitution.

Problems With Both Parties

Based on the interviews Reason.tv did with 9/12 Tea Party protesters, it seems folks there were upset with both parties, in 2008 and now.  However, those in power right now should strongly consider this...it's them these folks are aiming at come their next election.

Recession Fleet

The stock market and unemployment rates aren't the only indicators of our economy.  Here, outside of Singapore, is the "ghost" fleet of unused cargo ships, currently not needed for economic trade.  Close to 500 of them, floating empty.

9/12 Tea Parties

Wow....sure looks like one or two people showing up in DC today.  I was originally planning on joining these few people there in DC but was unable to make it.

Although the bulk of people are showing up in the capital today, there are still other ones going on around the country.  Like Tollesboro, or Nicholasville, KY.  Our representatives in DC may be physically seeing this gang, but they do need to remember they aren't the only ones protesting today.

Search Engine Memorials

For September 11th, 2009, Ask.com had this as their main page.  Bing.com had this as their main page.  Google.com, on the other hand, had business as usual for any ordinary day.

I've not exactly the biggest fan of Microsoft, but I think I'll be searching there more often.

CNN Shoots First, Asks Questions Later

I, like Ed Morrissey, find today a strange day as we both agree with White House Press Secretary Robert Gibbs.  As Politico notes:

White House press secretary Robert Gibbs today criticized CNN – not the Coast Guard – over the panic caused by the agency’s training exercise on the Sept. 11 anniversary, saying that the alarm could have been avoided if the network had checked its facts. 

As he questioned later:

She also asked why Gibbs didn’t think the Coast Guard incident was comparable to an Air Force One flyover in New York for a photo shoot in April that set off a panic there. The head of the White House military office, Louis Caldera, resigned in the wake of that incident. 

"If we set aside the media coverage, would you be asking this question?" Gibbs said.

So, in other words, had CNN not "jumped the gun", we wouldn't have even had a story to talk about.  Just having a relatively unknown Coast Guard drill going on in the Potomac River.  As they all should be.
