First of all, I would like to say our prayers go to all those evacuating Louisiana ahead of Hurricane Gustav.
Michelle Malkin notes a few who are NOT praying but gloating that, in their eyes, God is on the liberal side. Seems sending weather in to cancel a convention means God is on their side? How so? Or is it timed to let some republican leaders shine?
Louisiana State Police have issued this statement this morning: “As directed by Governor Jindal, Louisiana State Police will initiate contraflow at 4:00 AM Sunday morning. For the first time in history, the entire Louisiana coastal population will be evacuated due to the impending threat of Hurricane Gustav.” Some good hints there as to what did not take place during Governor Blanco's reign.
In Matthew 5:45, Jesus states "He causes his sun to rise on the evil and the good, and sends rain on the righteous and the unrighteous." Doesn't look like He is very partial with where He sends His weather.
We are also asked to pray for those who lead us. First Timothy 2:1-2 "I urge, then, first of all, that requests, prayers, intercession and thanksgiving be made for everyone—for kings and all those in authority, that we may live peaceful and quiet lives in all godliness and holiness." I'm sure one sign of those prayers being answered is seeing leaders making wise calls as nature bears down on their areas.
When it's all said and done, let's look back and see who got the job done this time.
