By now it's rather old news, but the Nevada State Democratic Party has dumped the August 14th presidential debate co-sponsored by Fox News.
Their initial logic for being a participant in it actually made sense: "The letter said Nevada Democrats had entered into the agreement with Fox, despite strong opposition from Democratic activist groups such as MoveOn.org, as a way of finding 'new ways to talk to new people.'"
However, they choose to drop out after Fox News chairman and CEO Roger Ailes made the following joke of Barak Obama: "And it is true that Barack Obama is on the move. I don't know if it's true that President Bush called Musharraf and said, 'Why can't we catch this guy?' "
Rather sensitive, aren't we? Considering what's been said of George W. Bush and fellow Republicans, this is tame. When reading the line, it could be taken another way as well. Considering how Dems consider Bush dim-witted, we could even read into the line that Ailes is saying Bush gets confused easy with names.
Oh well. At least this means the Dems are probably going to run any debates they have on a lower rated outlet. Good idea.
